The "Yeast Lipid Conference" (YLC) is an international scientific meeting held every second year to promote free discussion between scientists working on or interested in yeast lipids. YLC is based in Europe. Style of the conference and responsibility for the organization rests entirely with the Organizer. The continuity of YLC is safe-guarded by a Steering Group. The main functions of the YLC Steering Group are to appoint the Organizers of the forthcoming YLCs and to support the Organizers to select subjects and speakers for the conference. The YLC Steering Group consists of seven members. Members of the Steering Group are the Organizers of the last three Conferences and four experts in the field of yeast lipidology who are elected prior to each upcoming meeting by the members of the Yeast Lipid Community. At least one of the elected members has to be a yeast lipidologist from the USA. Members of the Steering Group will serve from one to the following YLC and can be re-elected. The Steering Group of YLC elects a Chairperson who will serve for the same period of time as the Steering Group. The (electronic) votes are collected by the current Chairperson of the Steering Group who gets in contact to group leaders of laboratories that participated in at least one of the previous three YLCs. Each yeast lipid laboratory has one vote. Stand: 25.05.05
